Gala Cloths captures the "Most Artistic" table design award at the
19th Annual Great Chefs' Dinner to benefit The Family Tree

more news...

Among 37 Maryland designers presenting 39 themed dining tables for the 19th annual Great Chefs' Dinner on April 26, 2010, to benefit The Family Tree, Gala Cloths' table design took the "Most Artistic" category award of the event. Gala Cloths' design was inspired by the New York Botanical Gardens, interpreting this year's event theme, "A New York State of Mind."

Alexandra Guarnaschelli, Executive Chef of Butter Restaurant in New York and Food Network personality, presided over the event, which raised more than $580,000 for The Family Tree.

Dulany Noble, owner of Gala Cloths, mobilized fellow hospitality industry professionals to pull together her tabletop design, all members of the Baltimore Chapter of the National Association of Catering Executives (NACE):

Loren Lippman, Party Rentals, Ltd., who supplied chargers and chairs.

Ellene Pomerantz, Write Style Design Studio, who created scrolled menu cards, place cards, and tags for the miniature potted orchid favor at each guest place setting.

Stanton Wingrat, Flowers & Fancies, who contributed displays of exotic blooms including orchids for the centerpiece and place setting favors.

The Family Tree is Maryland's leading nonprofit dedicated to improving the community by providing families with proven solutions to prevent child abuse and neglect. The Family Tree's service model focuses on working with the whole family. The entire staff of Gala Cloths has supported The Family Tree for more than a dozen years in many ways, including volunteering hands-on at the organization's community events.
